Hello! I’m an investigative reporter with The Winnipeg Free Press. Over my career, I’ve largely reported on inequality, health care, and criminal legal systems. Most recently, I covered the federal government for The Globe and Mail’s Ottawa bureau.

In addition to The Globe, I’ve written features for a variety of outlets – including TVO.org, Xtra Magazine, and The Atlantic. I’ve also reported for Investigative Post, a non-profit newsroom based in Buffalo, NY, and The Trace, a non-profit newsroom that covers gun violence. I have a Master’s degree from the Columbia Journalism School, where I was a fellow at the Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism.

I was born in Toronto, raised in the GTA, and have since lived in Toronto, New York City, Buffalo, Kingston, and Ottawa. My father’s family hails from a small village called Bhaltos, which is located about as far west as you can go on the Isle of Lewis before dropping into the Atlantic Ocean. My mum’s family, meanwhile, immigrated to Canada from a mix of places in England and Northern Ireland.

Off-hours, you can find me surf-skiing, hiking, and practicing my Gaelic.
